Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Floyd Michael Patten, 54 of Bullhead City, for Aggravated Assault on an Officer, Resisting Arrest, Dangerous Drug Possession, Tampering with Evidence, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession, all felonies, and Misdemeanor Possession of an Open Liquor Container. On Wednesday (1/10), Deputies observed a red sedan pull onto a closed section of Highway 95 (closed for road construction) near Camp Mohave Rd. Deputies activated their lights and sirens and initiated a traffic stop in the 4600 block of Highway 95 and the sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Patten, exited the vehicle. Once returned to the vehicle, Patten was asked for his identification, and upon pulling his wallet from his pocket a baggie containing a white powdery substance was observed falling onto the floorboard. Patten was asked to step out of the vehicle but was non-compliant with deputy’s commands. Deputies attempted to remove Patten from the vehicle and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, Patten stepped on the baggie multiple times and the involved deputy received minor injuries. Additional deputies arrived on scene and placed Patten into custody. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine and Patten was transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman without further incident.
